Experts from LAO NIU Foundation and ONE Foundation visit The Pendeba Society

On May 19th, 2011, The Pendeba Society received a group of entrepreneurs including Mr. LEI Yongsheng, Secretary of LAO NIU Foundation, Ms. ZHANG Min, Supervisor of ONE Foundation and others at our Training Center. 

In the morning, The Pendeba Society’s Executive Director, Tsering Norbu first gave a presentation to our honored guests about The Pendeba Society’s workarea, the Qomolangma National Nature Preserve, and then the background of The Pendeba Society and what The Pendeba Society has achieved since its foundation. During the presentation, all the guests expressed their encouragement and support to our work, as well as contributed a number of constructive comments and suggestions, which were of great help to The Pendeba Society’s work in the future.

In the afternoon, The Pendeba Society organized a field trip to Shegar Town where our guests had a close-up interaction with our previous pendebas and learnt how they lived and earned their living. In particular, our guests had a pleasant conversation with one of our pendebas in his home, where he works as a silver handicraftsman to support his family. The guests were very interested in and learnt much about his work and lifestyle. This pendeba participated in a study tour to Yunnan that was organized by The Pendeba Society, of which he was very appreciative. 

In the end, our guests reaffirmed their support and praises toward The Pendeba Society’s work and achievements. They also showed their interest in collaborating with The Pendeba Society in terms of project funding and community program development. In the meantime, The Pendeba Society also expressed sincere gratitude to our guests for their support and suggestions, and hoped that they would visit us again in QNNP.
